A customer from Ohio was in Isle of Candles recently and told me about these incredible Ukrainian Easter Eggs she makes. Thankfully, she sent us photos and a “how-to” sheet so we could better understand all the effort that goes into making these beautiful pieces.

Ukrainian Easter Eggs are quite colorful and brimming with intricate designs. The designs are created by drawing wax lines right onto the eggs, which act as color barriers when the eggs are dyed.

This customer was anxious to try melted soy candles on the eggs, because hours and hours of being bent over melted paraffin wax to create the designs was taking its toll. Paraffin wax is full of toxins and this lady was breathing them in every time she worked on an Ukrainian Easter Egg.

She is going to try using melted soy oil instead of melted paraffin wax in designing the Ukrainian Easter Eggs, thereby giving her cleaner air to breathe.

…Just one more way soy candles from Isle of Candles are being used.
